In October 2009, a group of young people entered Serbia to learn more about the country, serve alongside national and international Christian workers, and learn what God is doing there. All of this was part of World Race, an 11-month, 11-country mission trip put on by Adventures in Missions.
Teams traveled all over Serbia, learning history, culture, and the story of Christianity. They heard testimonies of national believers. They took part in hands-on-ministry. Their hearts were moved by what they heard, saw and touched.
One comment from one of the members of the team was quite insightful: "In the Christian community, they think we will be like many others before us, who came to Serbia to serve to make ourselves feel better, not because we really care about them or who came only for a short time, started big ministries, and then left without ensuring that the work could be carried on or finished." Pray for those who come to Serbia to minister, that they would truly care for the Serb people. Pray for encouragement for the Serb believers who have seen many come and go. Pray for many to hear the Gospel and for God to be glorified.
