The third week of summer camp in 2009 was held for teenagers and young adults.  The book Purpose Driven Life was given to each of the youth.  Each day every one was responsible for reading the daily reading from the book and then later discussed together as a group.  After a week the first six day's readings were completed.  The prayer was that this practice of study would continue after these young people returned home from camp, that they would continue dwelling on the Lord, and that they would be motivated to study the Bible on their own.

Follow-up is essential in that most of these young adults do not have the opportunity to visit a local church that follows the Word.  There are few evangelical churches in Serbia.  In the towns where most of these youth live there are no evangelical churches at all. Pray for the time and workers needed for ongoing discipleship.

When [a] small group of young people who live in Kragujevac were later visited, and to great joy and surprise, the kids who were at camp and their new friends had decided to continue meeting to finish the Purpose Driven Live.  Reading the book every day, [they] started to think that Christians need to have fellowship and to together study the Bible and to pray for their needs. with the idea of starting a youth meeting, and the inspiration for that really came from the book Purpose Driven Life.

Pray for the small group of youth who are meeting together in Kragujevac.  Pray that they would continue to meet.  Pray that these young leaders would one day be the foundations of the local church and a light to the community with the Gospel.
