cornershopcacak_20090207_1258950860In Serbia, it's common to see small shops at almost every corner.  Many guests from America comment on how it brings back memories of life in the US many years ago.  A typical shops is comprised of one small room, but has almost anything you need.  When cooking you can run next door and buy eggs, milk, flour, or baking soda.  These little stores also have cleaning supplies, toilet paper, bread, fresh produce and even mini pizzas during the work week.  Many people shop for produce and bread everyday.  Children love to make daily trips to theses little shops each day for candy or other snacks.  The school kids buy pizza, ice cream, and sandwiches on their breakfast or lunch breaks.  Shopping at the smaller stores allows you to build relationships with neighbors and shop workers.

Pray for the people who work so hard in these small stores.  Pray for relationships to be built with neighbors and store clerks.
